For best results, grow 'Red jack' in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained, acidic soil. Plants need minimal pruning and can be propagated by layering. 

Avoid planting too deeply. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of leaf mould around the base of the plant each spring.

Grows to a mature height of 3m/ width 3m, over 5 - 10 years.

The roots are encased in its required pot with soil, or in a bag with moistened soil if the plant you have ordered is bare-root. As a result, during transit the roots remain moist, the tree can stay hydrated and arrive in healthy condition, ready to be planted.
